EXAM: CT OF THE ABDOMEN WITHOUT AND WITH CONTRAST - LIVER PROTOCOL

INDICATION: CT ABDOMEN WITH/WITHOUT CONTRAST; recent ultrasound demonstrating a 2 cm lesion in the right lobe of the liver.
COMPARISON: Ultrasound October 31, 2017.
TECHNIQUE: Multidetector multiphase helical CT was performed with the following phases:
1. Unenhanced images of the abdomen
2. Arterial phase images of the abdomen
3. Portovenous phase images of the abdomen
4. Delayed enhanced images of the abdomen
IV Contrast: 150 mL Isovue-300
Oral Contrast: None
RADIATION DOSE: CTDI Vol (mGy):DLP (mGy-cm) 10.45,6.77,7.337.52:783.3
FINDINGS:
Liver: The lesion identified on the ultrasound examination represents a simple cyst measuring 2 cm in size. No additional liver lesions. Normal size and contour of the liver. Mild fatty change. Normal size and enhancement of the portal venous system.
Abdomen:
Lung bases: within normal limits
Bile Ducts: normal caliber.
Gallbladder: no calcified gallstones. Normal wall thickness.
Pancreas: within normal limits.
Spleen: within normal limits.
Adrenals: within normal limits.
Kidneys: 4 mm nonobstructing calculus in the portion of the right kidney. The kidneys and proximal ureters are otherwise unremarkable.
GI Tract: The portion of the bowel that is included on the study is unremarkable. Stomach is decompressed. The appendix is partially included on the study and unremarkable.
Lymph Nodes: no enlarged lymph nodes.
Peritoneum: no ascites or free air, no fluid collection. Vessels: within normal limits.
Retroperitoneum: within normal limits.
Abdominal Wall: within normal limits.
Bones: within normal limits.
IMPRESSION: The 2 cm lesion identified on the recent abdominal ultrasound within the right lobe of the liver represents a simple cyst. No suspicious liver findings.
4 mm nonobstructing calculus in the midportion of the right kidney. |
